In a Cylindrical Halbach Array the magnetic field is contained entirely within the inside diameter of the cylinder with little to no magnetic field on the outside diameter. The strength of the magnetic field is mainly determined by the size of the inside diameter.
In a Linear Halbach Array the magnetic field is eliminated on one side of straight array of magnets. This array uses block magnets that are oriented in varying direction and assembled in a straight line to produce a strong magnetic field on one side while a very weak field is produced on the opposite site.
In a Holding Halbach Array an extremely strong magnetic field is produced on one side of the assembly using magnet and orientation patterns. This can produce and hundreds of pounds of holding force.
