Silver plating is mostly used as a decorative coating. The main industries you will find using silver plating - jewelry, decorative, cosmetic, and consumer products. Silver provides protection of the magnet from corrosion in ambient air, but is less than nickel. It is a soft metal, so it can scratch easily. The standard thickness of this coating is 12-15 microns and the max working Temp is approximately 200C.
