When you're ready for a custom solution—whether that’s a fully engineered magnetic system, simulation support, or a complete assembly—our team at SM Magnetics is ready to help you bring it to life.

About the Product

Neodymium sphere magnets provide a strong, uniform magnetic field and smooth surface for precision applications. These spherical magnets are ideal for magnetic joints, alignment tools, prototypes, and sensor experiments. Their shape allows for easy rotation and consistent contact in ball-and-socket designs. Because the contact area is small, be sure to calculate holding and shear force accurately, considering surface finish and steel thickness. Choose the appropriate grade for your required magnetic strength and temperature performance, and select coatings to reduce wear and corrosion during handling.

More magnet than I can handle

These little spheres are amazingly, impressively strongly magnetic, in fact, so much so that they are making my little project a bit more difficult. Even pairing one with a steel ball bearing is still more attraction than I had expected. Not to worry, though, I’ll adjust, and am happy to know that the power will be there when I need it for some other project.
